August 25, 2008 - Variety confirmed what had been rumor and speculation in the Depp communities for a while, that is Infinitum Nihil's connection to The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters when they reported that Jayson Rothwell was currently writing the screenplayfor Warner Bros. and Depp's Infinitum Nihil. May 05, 2006, Depp's Infinitum Nihil is now on board with Graham King's GK Films and Warner Bros to produce the live-action film based on Brian Selznick's Caldecot Award winning children's novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The story told through minimal text and maximum illustrations and tells of an orphaned boy who secretly lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station in the early 20th Century and looks after the clocks in the station where he gets involved in a mystery while trying to repair a mechanical man. Ice Age's Chris Wedge has signed on to direct and "The Aviator" screenwriter John Logan has been signed to write the adaptation. A fall 08 start date was mentioned.The screen rights were originally acquired by GK Films and Warner Bros in 2007. A rights deal closing with Warner Bros. and Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil and Graham King's GK Films to develop a film based on the '60s "Dark Shadows" was announced in Variety, with the estate of Dan Curtis, the producer and director who created the ground breaking afternoon soap opera that ran weekdays on ABC for 5 years, from 1966 to 1971. It was said that Depp and King will produce with David Kennedy (who ran Dan Curtis Prods. until Curtis died last year). July 17, 2007 Hollywood Reporter told us Intandem had purchased a 5% stake in the Los Angeles based comic book publisher Radical Publishing. They went on to announce that "Radical's slate also includes Sam Sarkar's comic creation "Caliber," which is being produced with Infinitum Nihil, Terrance Chang and John Woo for Lionrock Prods., with Woo attached to direct." January 11, 2007 Variety told us that Warner Bros. acquired the film rights to a book on the death of former KGB Agent Alexander Litvinenko for Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil to develop. The book was to be written by New York Times London bureau chief Alan Cowell. Cowell had covered the Litvinko story since November 2006.
