INAMORATA

Inamorata by Joseph Gangemi

March 2, 2005 Ain't It Cool News posted this in their Gunn Shots unconfirmed area:

"Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil and producer Graham King (Aviator) have hired Joseph Gangemi to adapt his novel "Inamorata" (Viking, 2004). Inspired by true events, story is about Scientific American magazine's 1922 contest which offered $5,000 to the first spirit-medium who could prove herself genuine. Hero is a 23 year old assistant to the magazine's investigating committee who finds himself falling in love with a Philadelphia "society psychic" he's supposed to be debunking." On May 21, 2005, I was able to confirm this news on our old JDR forum when I posted: "I've just learned that Philadelphia author Joseph Gangemi is working on a screenplay adaptation of his book INAMORATA for Johnny and his production company Infinitum Nihil. This news has not been officially announced as yet. I've heard that once all of the paperwork is in order that this project will be announced, therefore this project could be announced today, tomorrow or months from now."
Our Q&A with Joseph Gangemi first appeared on our old forum on August 21, 2005.
December 13, 2006 Variety reported that Initial and Infinitum were in talks with Peter Medak to direct the film, it's script was being adapted by Gangemi.
To date, the former website for Joseph Gamgemi can't be found.
To date this project's status in unknown.
